My Approach to new supplies and a colorful floral card
7/08/2020
For the first 6 months of 2020 I challenged myself to not buy ANY crafting supplies and to only use what I had. It was towards the end of 2019 that I realized that there were too many stamps and dies in my drawer that I hadn't used at all or just once so I thought it was time to use all of them before buying more. It was a fun challenge and really stretched my creativity. I still have many cards to share with you over here where you'll see me craft with older supplies.
For the remaining months of 2020 I promised myself a minimalistic approach to new supplies in order to not get overwhelmed with too many things but whenever there's a new release and I really love a particular product I'll give myself permission to purchase it. And that's exactly what happened about a week ago. I don't have many solid stamps in my stash so the new 'Solid Floral' stamp set and the 'Narrow Stripes' stencil of Create A Smile Stamps made for the perfect first purchase of the year :)

Create A Smile Stamps Collector's Album
5/28/2020
One of my favorite stamp companys, Create A Smile Stamps, recently released a collector's album featuring their wide range of products as well as beautiful photos of cards, a bunch of crafting hacks and lots of inspiration. I was asked to do a little interview for the album which I'm beyond thrilled to share with you!
What an honour! Thank you so much, Create A Smile Stamps, for the opportunity and the shout out!

Sketch Challenge
5/06/2020
Cardmaking challenges really encourage me to think outside the box. When I saw the current challenge of Create A Smile Stamps my initial thought was to skip it as the challenge's sketch contains an oval shape which I don't have in my stash, neither as stamps nor as dies.
But then I came up with the idea to create somewhat of an oval shape using my sunflower stamps and I love how it worked out!
I decided to use the 'Magic Flowers' stamp set which was among the first stamps I've ever bought and still love and continued practicing no-line coloring. For the first time, I started out with watercolors and then added colored pencils for a bit of texture and more vibrancy.
As I didn't want to cover any of my colored sunflowers with a banner I cut the banner directly from the colored area. Hope you like it!

Pops of Color

I enjoy working on black cardstock every once in a while. Here I experimented with Distress Oxide Inks and two different stencils and I really like how the inks pop on black cardstock.
