Warm Winter Wishes

I'm a huge fan of stitched details on cards. After I had masked off the heart and stamped the woodgrain over the entire card front the background looked a little plain. That's when I decided to grab some red embroidery floss and make the heart stand out properly. It also gives a rustic feel to the scene which is exactly what I had in mind. If you look closely you will see that I made two versions. In the first one I used the woodgrain stamp with brown distress ink and the second one is stamped with white pigment ink. I wanted to try both inks on kraft and I think I like the brown ink better.

Supplies: Winter fox by Lawn Fawn, Woodgrain Cling Stamp by Create A Smile Stamps, Tim Holz Distress Ink Pads by Ranger, Tsukineko VersaColor white pigment ink, Copic markers

I'm linking this card up to Stempelküche's current challenge

(UPDATE: Yay! My card won the challenge :) See the post over here.)

  1. What a wonderful way to incorporate a heart onto your card. Love the texture and how the yarn adds to the wintry feel.
