Don't Let The World Bring You Down

My friend asked me to letter this sentence (lyrics by Incubus) for her birthday and I was more than happy to do it! I created another bokeh background which I absolutely love and lettered the sentiment with my trusted and beloved Tombow pen.

Sweet Birthday

I currently enjoy creating little scenes on my cards. When I started working on this particular one I had no idea where I was going but I'm really happy with the outcome and I can't wait to give this card to my mother :)

I also got back into the habit of creating matching bows for the envelopes. I think this is so cute for cards that are given away in person.

You Are My Mountain, You Are My Sea

This card is very different from the wedding cards I usually make and I must say that it's one of my favorites so far. I softly ink blended the mountains and waves onto Bristol smooth cardstock, framed them and handlettered the sentiment (that was the motto of the wedding reception) around it. I used Finetec gold watercolors which pop beautifully on the white cardstock and create a beautiful shine on the rather minimalistic card.

Shades Of Pink Newborn Card

I wanted to create a very "girly" newborn card with different shades of pink and a little bit of glitter and thought this was a good opportunity to try the bokeh technique for the first time. I really love how the background turned out and it was fairly easy to make. I simply die cut a bunch of circles out of some masking paper and used the negative piece as a stencil. I rotated my stencil a few times to slightly overlap a few circles.

Then I cut small strips of light pink, bright pink and white cardstock and glued them together for a striped look that I used for the die cut pieces.
