Tag It!

Inspired by the current challenge of Create A Smile Stamps I decided to make my very first tag. I also challenged myself to use stamps I've never used before and went with the smaller elements of the "Bear Mail" and the "Cart Full Of Treasures" stamp sets. I love how the envelopes shake around in the tag together with the sequins. I will put a personal message on the back of the frame and attach it to a gift very soon! So glad I've given this a try!

Blue and Gold Heartstrings

I once again used my beloved ink smooshing technique to create this card. With all watercolor techniques out there I always get the best results with ink smooshing. I'm really into this color combo!

Soccer Birthday Card

This is definitely not my go-to color scheme but I wanted to incorporate the signature colors of someone's favorite soccer team (Borussia Dortmund) into this card and had to step out of my comfort zone ;) I think it turned out fine!

Birthday Card: In Bloom

I just love creating floral arrangements like this one on my cards.  Here I started off by smooshing several distress inks onto a piece of watercolor paper. I first combined red, yellow and orange tones for the flowers and then greens and yellows for the leaves. Once everything was dry I stamped the flowers and leaves, fussy cut and arranged them on my card. I die cut the word happy out of the same watercolor paper for a cohesive look.

Happy 2018!

And here are the die cut stars I talked about in my last post. I'm so in love with the colors.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year! May all your dreams come true in 2018!

Christmas Cards 2017 #17

I had a very different design on my mind when I started creating this card. I smooshed distress inks onto some watercolor paper and  die cut stars out of it so that I could use the positive pieces on my card. But when I looked at the negative piece I thought "Wait a minute! This looks beautiful!" and I immediately changed my design. I'm so glad that I did because I absolutely LOVE the bright and happy colors against the black card stock. I will certainly use the diecut stars as well because they're super pretty but for now I'll leave you with this:

This card wraps up my "Christmas Cards 2017" series and as much as I love winter themed holiday cards, I'm very much looking forward to creating fun birthday cards and floral designs again. See you next time, Christmas :)
